The time has finally arrived ladies and gentlemen, the hit 90s group TLC ( our AINT TO PROUD TO BEG girls) will finally have their very own biopic. The movie will be produced through the hit televisions station VHI and will be given the titled of (CRAZY, SEXY, COOL: The TLC Story)
The original group members were singer Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, rapper Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and singer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. Left Eye passed away in 2002 due to a car accident. TLC was known as the girl group who were not afraid to push the limits. The limits were pushed through their crazy outfits and their explicit song lyrics.
The cast for the movie has finally been pick and will consist of rapper and (VMA stage crasher) Lil Mama as Left Eye, Keke Palmer as Chilli and actress Drew Sidora (The Game) as T-Boz.
T-Boz and Chilli stated they did not want well known actress portraying them in the film and perferred if the cast members were well known but not to big.
I ADORE TLC, they were the first girl group I obsessed over. Before their was Destiny’s Child there was TLC. I remember growing up me, my sister, my god sister Mekia, and extended cousin Robyn played TLC and we always fought over who would play which group member.
One of the first sexual songs I listened to when I was younger was TLC’s RED LIGHT SPECIAL. I was so curious as a young girl and really wanted to know what was the true meaning of this song. I eventually found out and to this day it’s still a favorite song of mines. I am excited for the bio pic and can’t wait to see what these fabulous ladies bring to the big screen, especially (Lil Mama) she better bring it or else the critics are going to eat her ALIVE.
Kate Lanier of “Glitter” fame wrote the script and Charles Stone III (“Drumline”) will be directing the biopic. No word on release the release date, so in the mean time we will now have to wait.
Fierce and Love
Lil' Mama can definitely pass for Left Eye physically. If Keke Palmer makes her hair wavy, she'll be a good representation of Chilli. We'll see about Drew Sidora.
As for their outifits, my grandmother told me that they originally wore those (i.e. the baggy overalls) because they couldn't afford to wear something more fashionable early in their careers, so they made their own clothes and became trendsetters. Not sure if that's true or not, but I like to think it is.
I definitely think it's going to be interesting to see the girls bring this movie to life. Wow thats interesting in that's the true reason why they wore such FUNKY OUTFITS. Those crazy outfits definitely ended up working for them in the end
