Beauty and the Beast (Movie Review)

As a young girl I grew up on Disney Movies and the Disney Channel, therefore seeing that Beauty and the Beast was in the making of being turned into a modern-day movie had me super excited. Being that I wanted to be one of the first to write a review about the movie I went and saw it the  Thursday before the official day that it premiered.

The breakdown of Beauty and the Beast focuses on a French village girl who falls in love with a beast who at first appears to be cold-hearted but in reality, he’s a gentle soul. The beauty aka Belle was played by Emma Watson. Now Emma Watson to me will always be known as Hermoine Granger from Harry Potter but she was one hell of a Belle in this movie. She truly nailed this role and convinced me that she was indeed Belle the girl who fell in love with a Beast. You would have never known that Emma Watson took time off from acting to attend Brown University in Rhode Island. I felt as if she had never left the acting world simply because she was phenomenal as Belle. The modern-day story was even more beautiful than the cartoon, I almost forgot that it was such a beautiful love story. Kudos Emma on such a good job as Belle I was really drawn in and enticed on how you had so much love to give towards your father and the beast.

I admired the fact that Belle had such a strong love for books, she reminded me of myself. I literally always have a book with me wherever I go.

One of the most exciting scenes was seeing all the household goods return to their human selves, it was interesting to see what the person behind the voice looked like.

Additionally, one thing that made this movie so great was that at moments it gave off the vibe of being a musical. The singing and dancing were quite entertaining

This is definitely a must see, also if you have a young child who has not watched the cartoon version of “Beauty and the Beast” you might want to put that on for them before they watch the modern-day version. I know many of you may find this hard to believe but there’s a generation of kids out there who have not need many of the Disney movies that my generation grew up on and that’s immensely sad. The story of Beauty and the Beast is somewhat complex and if you would like to have your mind blown check out some history of the tale at this site .
