Baggage Claim *MOVIE REVIEW*

On September 27, 2013 I went and saw the romantic comedy Baggage Claim, and honestly I really enjoyed it. The premiere weekend only put the movie in 4th with a profit of 9.3 million. The main character (Montana Moore) was played by Paula Patton and she did a great job at playing the role of a woman who was desperately looking for love. Robin Thicke sure is a lucky man. She’s absolutely beautiful. You may remember Paula from the movies “Precious” and the Bride from “Jumping The Broom.”

The film featured Derek Luke, Taye Diggs, Jill Scott, Boris KodJoe, Trey Songz, Adam Brody, Tia Mowry, Lauren London, Christina Millian, Lala Anthony, Jennifer, Lewis, Ricky Smiley, and DJimon Hounsou. Montana is single and feels as if she is running out of time, especially when it is announced that her younger sister is engaged. She finds herself in a dilemma where she has 30 days to find a mate. With the help of her best friend (Jill Scott) and her frequent flyers miles she coincidently bumps into her exes on flights and tries to see if she can rekindle anything with these males, but they all seem to have some kind of issues.

I would not be doing the movie any justice if I forgot to mention the performance of Jill Scott. This woman turned it up a notch and definitely played a role I never saw her play before. She has a theatre background which I recently found out about, so I can definitely foresee her on Broadway someday. Jill played the heck out of her role, she had me cracking up and saying OH NO SHE DIDNT. You guys are going to love her.

Over all I could so relate to Montana so very much, it was actually quite strange how much we had in common with one another. I current walk in her shoes besides the fact that she’s a flight attendant and I’m a soldier, those are the only difference. We both are looking for love and it seems like we are looking in all the wrong places. I’m thinking that special someone might be right in my face. I highly recommend that you go out and see this movie, if not for the laugh DO IT TO SUPPORT THE BLACK COMMUNITY, the black acting community. Hope you enjoy the movie as much as I did.

Fierce & Love
