Ajee Wilson sets new American Record in the 800 ( 1:55.61)

Records are meant to be broken and athletes are doing that each and everyday. This past weekend Ajee Wilson broke and set and a new American Record in the women’s 800 with a third place finish in a time of 1:55.61. 

I was super excited to hear about such a HUGE milestone in her career. 

1) My favorite race to run is the 800

2) Ajee is an amazing athlete and it’s great to see her hard work pay off 

3) It’s great to see an American Woman holding her own against the other amazing runners in the world 

The new American Record was set in Monaco and the previous American Record was held by Jearl Miles-Clark ( 1:56.40) set in 1999. 

Black girl magic definitely dominated this mid distance race 

Congratulations Ajee Wilson, good luck at the World Championship meet in London.
